A Comment on Luke 19/27

“But these mine enemies that would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me”

To deal with this scripture properly you have to consider the following:

1-    This verse is part of the story or parable shown in verses 11-27, this is confirmed by what HE said in the next verse: “and when he spoke this parable….”

2-    The story or parable is a clarification of what happened with Zacchaeus whom met Jesus (verses1-10), this is clear because Jesus said at the end of Zacchaeus’s story in verse 11 “And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable…”

But some narrowed minded people think that Christ is saying this about himself implying that He’s going to do this to people, everyone knows that he didn’t, He even brought the dead back to life. Plus, according to the bible, Jesus died then rose after one week of this incident.

The story of the repentance of Zacchaeus’s the tax collector and the parable of the unfaithful stewards tell us at least one very important lesson: God awaits a sincere repentance from you then He forgives you, but what do you expect from God if you rejected and refused to repent, ignored the truth and despised His call for you to serve Him!

  "أَمَّا   أَعْدَائِي،   أُولئِكَ   الَّذِينَ لَمْ يُرِيدُوا أَنْ أَمْلِكَ عَلَيْهِمْ، فَأْتُوا بِهِمْ إِلَى هُنَا وَاذْبَحُوهُمْ قُدَّامِي"

حتى نستطيع أن نتعامل مع هذا النص بشكل صحيح، يجب أن نأخذ بعين الاعتبار التالي:

هذا السطر هو جزء من القصة "المثل" المعروضة بين الأعداد 11-27، والتأكيد على هذا ما علق عليه في الآية التالية بقوله: "ولما قال هذا المثل ..."

إن القصة "المثل" المذكور، هو توضيح لما حدث مع زكا الذي تقابل مع السيد المسيح في الأعداد 1-10 من نفس الأصحاح، وهذا واضح من قوله في في نهاية قصة زكا في الآية 11 "وإذ كانوا يسمعون هذا عاد فقال مثلا ..."

أما بعض البسطاء في فهم الكتاب المقدس الذين يعتقدون أن السيد المسيح يقول هذا عن نفسه أنه سيفعل هذا بالناس، فالجميع يعمل أنه لم يفعل، بل حتى الآموات أعادهم للحياة. إضافة إلى أنه بعد أسبوع من هذا الحدث، بحسب نص الكتاب المقدس، مات هو ثم قام.

إن قصة توبة زكا جابي الضرائب الفاسد، ومثل الوكلاء غير الأمناء يخبراننا عبرة واحدة على الأقل هامة جدا:

ينتظر منك الله توبة صادقة عندئذ يُغفر لك، لكن ماذا تتوقع موقفا من الله إذا رفضت التوبة وجافيت الحق واحتقرت دعوته لك لخدمته؟
